The Love to Swaddle Up 50/50 Winter Warm 2.5 TOG allows you to preserve your precious sleep routine when it’s time to transition from being snuggly wrapped or swaddled into a sleeping bag.
The removable wing design helps your baby to gradually adjust to sleeping un-swaddled. Simply unzip one ‘wing’, wait a few nights for your baby to adjust to the sensation of sleeping with one arm released, & then remove the second wing.
The Love to Swaddle Up 50/50 Winter Warm features a 100% viscose from bamboo built-in quilted blanket for superior warmth & comfort, which is ideal for cool temperatures.
The Story Behind Love to Dream.
Back in 2008 Hana-Lia Krawchuk gave birth to her beautiful son Elijah. Like many of us, Hana and her husband had trouble getting their newborn son to sleep. 18 months later and hundreds of dollars down the drain on sleep solutions; they were still sleep deprived having not found a single product to help their son.
Trial and error, and a mother’s intuition led Hana to a possible solution to their problem. She noticed that Elijah always seemed to sleep better with his arms up and after much research she found medical studies that seemed to back up her solution.
She found that babies who have access to their arms during sleep were sleeping better due to the ability to self-soothe. This went against everything she was taught about wrapping your baby’s arms by their side.
Luckily Hana was an experienced fashion designer and was able to use her skills to design the swaddle. She spent many weeks refining and sampling the first version of the Love to Dream Original Swaddle Up and upon release the swaddle sold out in two weeks!
Since then millions of parents across the world have come to learn and trust the many benefits that the Love to Dream range brings.
What are the benefits of arms up swaddling?
Arms up is your babies natural sleep position and it allows for easy access to their hands to self-soothe themselves back to sleep. Babies use their hands by sucking on their fingers or rubbing their cheeks for comfort. Medical research suggests that babies who self-soothe often sleep better. The more sleep your baby has, the more sleep you have!

Can the Love to Dream Swaddle Up Original be used from birth?
Yes, this is the best time to introduce the swaddle. The smallest size we stock in the Love to Dream Original is 3-6kg, which is the weight range that most babies will be born. The Love to Swaddle Up 50/50 Winter Warm is available in Medium (6-8.5kg) and up for when your little one is ready to transition to arms out.
Is it unhygienic to use the swaddle if my baby sucks their hands?
Some babies love to suck on their hands as they fall asleep and unfortunately this does mean that the ‘wings’ of the garment can get a little wet.
We recommend that you wash any swaddle, wrap or clothes if it has become soiled after use. It is also quite common for a nappy to leak in the early months so a back up swaddle is definitely recommended if your baby relies on the swaddle to sleep.
How should I dress my baby under the Love To Swaddle Up 50/50?
Overheating has been linked to SIDS so it is very important to ensure your baby does not overheat.
The Love To Dream Swaddles have been designed to eliminate multiple layers of wrapping.
The table below provides you with guidelines* around how to dress your baby based on the room temperature.
*Please note: It is really important that you take into account all external factors when determining how to dress your baby, including the type of clothing that the baby has on, the babies general health and wellbeing, the temperature of the babies bedroom and if this may change throughout the night or day. All of these factors may vary in the same way as it does for adults. The table provided below should be used as a guide only & the carer needs to use their own discretion when dressing their baby for sleep time.
Is it safe to use a blanket over the swaddle?
We recommend that it is safest to avoid all loose blankets in the cot and instead add extra layers underneath your Love to Dream Swaddle Up Original. Please refer to the guide on how to dress your baby.
If you do choose to use a blanket it is crucial that you follow SIDs and KIDs guidelines in relation to using blankets in the cot.
Is Love to Swaddle Up 50/50 healthy for your baby’s hip development?
The Love To Swaddle Up is certified and approved by the International Hip Dysplasia Institute. Your baby's natural, safe sleep position is with their legs splayed in a frog-like position. The swaddle allows your baby to sleep in this position without restriction.
What is the TOG rating?
The TOG measurement, typically used in Europe, refers to the approximate warmth of the product by measuring the thermal insulation provided by its material.
TOG rating uses an ascending scale from cool & lightweight products at 0.2 TOG to warm & cosy products at 2.5 TOG. Basically, the higher the TOG, the warmer the product.
Can the Love to Swaddle Up 50/50 be used in the car?
Love to Dream has made the decision to remove the travel slot across the swaddle up product range. The travel slot was always intended for use in a stroller. It was not intended for use with car seats, baby capsules or infant seats, as it is not safe to swaddle your child in any way while using these.
Love to Dream take safety very seriously, and as they have been made aware that a number of parents unknowingly use the travel slot in an unsafe manner, they have made the decision to remove it completely to prevent any confusion.
